Residents of our community were allowed to return to their homes today. Thankfully most of us here in 4s have been spared!

In the video, you see the fire go right up to the wall of the firestation..and it stopped there. All the homes off Four Gee Road were untouched.

I will post a video update sometime tomorrow of our neighborhood. Check back soon…

This is filmed at my home in 4s Ranch, a suburb of Rancho Bernardo.

All 36,000 residents of Ramona have been ordered to evacuate because of a wind-driven brush fire.
So far it has burned at least 5,000 acres.
Evacuees ae being asked to go to Mira Mesa High School, 10510 Reagan Road or Escondido High School, 1535 N. Broadway, according to the American Red Cross.
The shelter at Poway High School has been closed.
Highway 78 in the area of the fire was closed, as was Old Julian Highway between Ramona and Santa Ysabel.
Highway 79, north of the reservation, was also closed and traffic was
being re-routed to Highway 76.
The Witch fire is one of two in San Diego County and seven in Southern California, prompting Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to declare a state of emergency for San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Another wind-fueled brush fire in rural southern San Diego County that has grown to 14,000 acres killed one person today and injured 17 others, including four firefighters hospitalized in serious condition.

This footage is in front of my home. You will see a firestation right across the street as well as a field to the right of it. The fire completely takes over the field and starts towards the firestation.

Its becoming more common and my father is/was a stay at home dad and I dont think I would be who I am today if it werent for him. Why do so many people judge a man that stays home (and keeps an immaculate house!) but don't judge women who stay home???

Actually, they judge women who stay at home too! Keeping house and raising kids can be a full time job, if it's done right (sounds like your dad did it right!) and I don't think anyone, male or female, should be criticized for wanting to raise a family well. Good for your dad!
However, being a stay at home parent can just be an excuse to not have a job, lay around all day watching t.v., and toss frozen dinners on the table. Not everybody does their job well!

What does he do for a living?
Can you support the family off your wage?
How do you decide who gets to be the stay at home parent? Traditionally its the mums job but these days men are putting there hand up so what do you think?

My husband done it when we had our little boy he stayed at home with our then 4 year old daughter and little boy til he was 18 months old. I had just started a new job in which to get the experience would set me up for life in my career so he took leave from the Defence Force and looked after them. The wage was fantastic more then what we would both earn so it just made sense at the time. I have just had our 3rd child and he was posted to a new base and preparing to be deployed to Afghanistan so it made sense for me to be at home. My daughter is now 7 my son 2 1/2 and my baby 4 weeks. I will stay at home til my husband is back from deployment in about 9 months. It worked well for us for him to stay at home through that time and now I feel that because I did not have the oppourtunity to saty at home with the older 2 kids I am really enjoying being at home now. ( Older daughter was in day care from 6 weeks as neither of us could afford to stop working ).

My friend Ashley is a stay at home dad. But it seems like she is always on her computer. What if her bastard babby knocks her glass bong over? I want her to start going to night church with her friend in Ohio.
